HONOR COURSES
Westminster AcademyŽ offers honor classes in all core classes and some electives. Courses designated as honor courses add a higher level of critical thinking skills to a more challenging and rigorous curriculum that includes additional reading, study and preparation.
Selection for honor courses is based on the following:
1. Cumulative GPA of 3.0
2. Grade of B or higher in pre-requisite course.
3. Standardized test scores on the IOWA, PSAT/SAT and PLAN/ACT as determined by appropriate academic discipline.
4. Teacher recommendation based on ability, motivation, study skills, and performance.
All students are subject to the above minimum standards.
Exceptions are by administrative approval only.
Students may be removed from an honors course if their level of achievement drops below a "B".
