Headmaster's MessageChildren in Christian schools not only receive a more truthful education than those in the government schools, they usually receive a superior education.
In the Christian school every side of the issue can be explored and debated in the true spirit of inquiry. When only partial debate and certain "approved" points of view are allowed, as in the government schools, one does not have true education as western civilization has historically understood education. One has propaganda.
National studies dealing with the recent concern for producing excellence in schools maintain that a major element in creating excellence in any school is to provide:
* A parent community unitedly in agreement about what values are to be taught and what character qualities they seek to have nurtured,
* A faculty that teaches similarly in the classroom.
That is the genius of the Christian school, a parent community and faculty of teachers who are one in conviction and one in practice. This climate best facilitates excellence.
Let's look at the alternative that parents face government schools.
HOLES, GAPS AND FRAGMENTED LEARNING
Children are cheated in a system of schooling where God is excluded. Not only is damage done by actual falsehoods taught in the classroom, but huge gaps and holes are left because of the truth, data and evidences not taught. What these students are at the conclusion of their schooling years is entirely different from their friends who are schooled Christianly!
Recent court rulings and findings of university studies have confirmed what we all know to be the case by law the government schools are not allowed to teach the whole truth about life, and by deliberate design, textbook companies, teacher unions and teacher training programs have systematically, since World War I, been about the business of expurgating from texts and teaching any reference to the God of the Bible. Government schools and many private schools have deliberate bias against God. That bias leaves children with gaps and holes in their learning that are rarely filled later in life. Their education has been fragmented.
When Christian schools take seriously the mandate to be excellent in all things and to do all things for God's glory, there simply is no comparison! No other form of schooling can compare with Christian schooling. |

My three oldest grandchildren were taught commitment at Westminster Academy, commitment to someone, commitment to an ideology, commitment to a philosophy, commitment to a way of life, a spiritual way of life. Those three grandchildren are now graduated with that same strong commitment evident in their lives daily.
