Westminster Academy Track and Field for 2008

StateTrackChamps08
State Champions

CONGRATULATIONS to our WA Boys Team -- STATE CHAMPIONS.

For the second time in Westminster history (the last one in 1979, the year Coach Baur was born) the WA boys claimed a state track championships.
In a truly team effort, a dozen boys scored points on the way to a 63 to 55 point win over Dade Christian, state runner-up for the third straight year.
Congratulations to individual STATE CHAMPIONS Anthony Sheffield (Triple Jump) and Teddy Hess (400 Meters), to state runner-ups Wayne Sears (Long Jump with a new school record), and the boys 4 x 4 team of Remy Rickel, Timmy Moses, Amp Sheffield, and Teddy Hess. You can read Coach Baur's Reflections on a State Championship by using the State Meet 2008 link on the left.

Sometimes our middle school athletes can be lost in the varsity success. But...congratulations to new middle school record holders (now over 30 years of history) -- Caroline Nichols, long jump; Laurie Auld, 800; Jake Champion, Triple Jump; Ryan Sharp, 400.

You can find a list of all kinds of school and team records on the new WA Team Page linked at the left.
